Alcoholic Kombucha Cocktail Recipes To Make At Home
So Where Can I Buy Alcoholic Kombucha In Phuket?
Well, hold on there cowboy! Being a relatively new drink, Thailand kombucha still falls under the outdated Thai brewing laws. This directly affects independent Phuket kombucha breweries like us here at KombuchaWOW! We’re not able to easily produce alcoholic kombucha because of the magic 0.5% ABV – we have to be under that, in order to be able to sell to the Public without a heap of super-stringent Thai brewing laws affecting us. This makes it almost impossible to buy hard kombucha across Phuket.
This makes us sad here as a Phuket kombucha producer, because we know the hard kombucha market in Thailand has seen a growing interest in recent years. In fact, according to Euromonitor International’s report “Thailand Health and Wellness Beverages Strategic Analysis and Forecasts to 2025”, the alcoholic kombucha category in Thailand is expected to see a year on year growth rate of over 20% from 2021 to 2025!
It’s crazy to think the market is expected to reach THB 571.7 million by 2025, and yet here we are waiting for laws to change to let independent kombucha Phuket businesses like us, join in the Big Boys and almost certainly make a better drink!

Anyway, all this means there’s no independent Thailand kombucha breweries that produce hard kombucha at time of writing this in February 2023. Meh.
The Solution: Alcoholic Kombucha Cocktails!
Now you could say hard kombucha offers the health benefits of probiotics and antioxidants – but with a boozy twist, right? But as you’ve read and now understand: However, you’re going to have to get creative and make your own alcoholic kombucha drinks – and lucky we’ve created the following 5 cocktails that are going to blow your tastebuds away!
Apple Pie a la Thai:
- 50ml (1.7 oz) KombuchaWOW! Apple Pie Flavour
- 35ml (1.2 oz) Spiced Rum
- 25ml (0.8 oz) Fresh Lemon Juice
- 20ml (0.7 oz) Thai Basil Syrup
- Dash of Angostura Bitters
- Apple Slices for Garnish
To make the Thai Basil Syrup, simply simmer equal parts sugar and water with a handful of fresh Thai basil leaves until the sugar has dissolved. Then strain and let it cool.
In a shaker, combine all the ingredients (excluding the apple slices) with ice. Shake well and strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with apple slices.
Mango Madness in Paradise:
- 50ml (1.7 oz) KombuchaWOW! Mango Passionfruit Flavour
- 30ml (1.0 oz) Vodka
- 25ml (0.8 oz) Passionfruit Juice
- 15ml (0.5 oz) Lime Juice
- 10ml (0.3 oz) Honey Syrup
- Fresh Mango Slices and Passionfruit Seeds for Garnish
To make the Honey Syrup, simply heat equal parts honey and water until the honey has dissolved. Then let it cool.
In a shaker, combine all the ingredients (excluding the mango slices and passionfruit seeds) with ice. Shake well and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with mango slices and passionfruit seeds.
Gingerly in Love with Passionfruit:
- 50ml (1.7 oz) KombuchaWOW! Passionfruit Ginger Flavour
- 35ml (1.2 oz) Gin
- 25ml (0.8 oz) Passionfruit Juice
- 20ml (0.7 oz) Ginger Syrup
- 15ml (0.5 oz) Lime Juice
- Candied Ginger for Garnish
To make the Ginger Syrup, simply simmer equal parts sugar and water with sliced ginger until the sugar has dissolved. Then strain and let it cool.
In a shaker, combine all the ingredients (excluding the candied ginger) with ice. Shake well and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with candied ginger.
Berry Good Whisky Romance:
- 50ml (1.7 oz) KombuchaWOW! Mixed Berry Flavour
- 40ml (1.3 oz) Whisky
- 20ml (0.7 oz) Crème de Cassis
- 20ml (0.7 oz) Lemon Juice
- 10ml (0.3 oz) Honey Syrup
- Mixed Berries for Garnish
In a shaker, combine all the ingredients (excluding the mixed berries) with ice. Shake well and strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with mixed berries.
Blue Love In Phuket:
- 50ml (1.7 oz) KombuchaWOW! Phuket Blue Flavour
- 35ml (1.2 oz) Tequila
- 25ml (0.8 oz) Blue Curaçao
- 20ml (0.7 oz) Lime Juice
- 15ml (0.5 oz) Agave Syrup
- Fresh Ginger Slices and Blue Spirulina Powder for Garnish
In a shaker, combine all the ingredients (excluding the ginger slices and blue spirulina powder) with ice. Shake well and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with fresh ginger slices and a sprinkle of blue spirulina powder.
