- Kamala Beach is a great spot for water sports, including surfing, paddleboarding, and kayaking. During the high season from November to April, the waves are small, making it an ideal time for beginners. The cost of renting a surfboard or paddleboard is around 300-500 THB ($10-15 USD) per hour. Most businesses in the area speak English.

- Bungee Jumping in Kathu (contact: +66 76 321 351) is a thrilling way to get an adrenaline rush, with a 50-meter drop over a lake. Prices start at 2,200 THB ($68) per jump.
- Kamala is home to several bars and nightclubs, such as the Silk Club (contact: +66 76 385 888) and Cafe del Mar (contact: +66 65 348 2017). These venues offer live music, DJs, and dancing until the early hours of the morning. - For adrenaline junkies, there are several zipline parks in the area, such as the Flying Hanuman (contact: +66 76 323 966) and Phuket Cable Ski & Wakeboarding (contact: +66 76 385 355). Prices for zipline adventures start around 2,000 THB ($60 USD) per person and include equipment rental and round-trip transportation. Most businesses offer English-speaking guides.

- Kamala is a quieter and less crowded destination than nearby Patong. The best time to visit is during the shoulder season in May or October for smaller crowds and better prices. English is widely spoken by locals, but it can be helpful to learn a few basic Thai phrases.
- As always, please think twice about doing any activity that has animal exploitation – tiger, snake and crocodile shows are awful – stick to elephant sanctuaries where you don’t get to ride them. Surprisingly, elephants’ backs are really weak, and 10 hours a day walking with heavy tourists and seats on their back, in the sun – it’s not good. Most Thai people don’t endorse animal shows, either.
